Bringing victory and a just peace closer is a common task for everyone, because russia’s genocidal war against Ukraine continues and we should not relax.
Andrii Yusov, a representative of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, who took part in the Ukrainian Week in the United States, stated this in Washington.
“The main events continue to take place on the battlefield. This should not be forgotten. [...] It is clear that both the Ukrainian military and political leadership and our partners are making every effort to ensure that a just peace comes as soon as possible. Nevertheless, the guys and girls, who are being on the front line, will definitely confirm that there is no reason to relax. The reality is that russia’s genocidal war against Ukraine continues. And, of course, the common task for everyone is to bring Ukraine’s victory and a just peace closer,” the DIU representative said in an interview for the YouTube podcast Blaush’s Digest.
According to Andrii Yusov, the topic of releasing and protection of the rights of Ukrainian prisoners of war was important during the working meetings.
“Of course, protecting the rights of our prisoners of war and raising this issue at the international level is an important component. And wherever possible, we need to raise this issue. The Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War and Ukraine will always do this,” said Andrii Yusov.
He reminded about the next exchange of prisoners of war carried out by the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War on 5 February 2025, in which 150 Ukrainian defenders returned home from the russian captivity.
DIU representative stressed that Ukraine continues to work hard every day to release all prisoners of war, as well as to fight on the battlefields against the aggressor state of russia.
